Myrtle Beach, SC
Sixty miles of sand, and a resort built for families.

Why families love it
It's built for families on vacation. Sixty miles of sandy shoreline, oceanfront resorts with rooftop water parks, mini-golf on every corner, and seafood buffets kids actually love. You never need the car after you arrive.
Best for ages
All ages, honestly. Toddlers love the calm surf and splash pads, teens get the boardwalk and rides, and it's a rare destination where the baby and the teenager are both happy.
When to go
Late May, early June, and September bring warm water and thinner crowds. July and August are peak: hot, busy, and priced to match. Late April and October work for beach without swimming, plus excellent golf.
Brandon's tips
Book oceanfront, not ocean view. It's worth it.
The north end (Cherry Grove, Ocean Drive) is quieter than the central Strip.
Broadway at the Beach beats the boardwalk for low-key evenings.
Buy beach chairs and an umbrella at a beach shop instead of renting all week.
